Deloitte employees make and IMPACT at Building Value

Deloitte Impact Day 2011Each year, Deloitte employees across the country take a day out of work to serve the community. This year, five employees from the Cincinnati office chose to assist Easter Seals WRC and by painting a storage garage at Building Value as part of the 2011 Deloitte Impact Day. The employees worked hard through one of the hottest days of the year and learned about our mission focused on workforce development. The project was one that would not have happened without the help of volunteers. Each employee also left with a greater understanding of Easter Seals WRC and its focus on social enterprise. Thank you Deloitte!

Ed Carthen Turns Volunteering into his 2nd CareerBuilding Value volunteer Ed Carthen helps trainees gain skills

Ed is retired from P&G but became a fan of Building Value from day one. He has several apartments that he remodels and repairs through the Building Value retail location. It wasn't long that he realized that he could help out himself. Today, Ed comes to Building Value several times each week to lend a helping hand in the store or just give encouragement to the Building Value trainees. Ed believes in the work that Building Value does and has become a part of it. He knows that it's people like him who can make a difference in the lives of those served at Building Value. "It's great to do something good. I get a whole lot out of it, too," shares Ed Carthen.
